MISSION
The mission of the college may be summarized as to discover, disseminate and apply the knowledge of science and technology for human well-being and the development of society. The primary purpose of the college is to provide quality instructional teaching for students in science & Mathematics, Humanities, Business Study and technology. The college curriculum strikes a balance between pursuits of knowledge needed in the workplace and society in general.
Consequently, the academic programs emphasizes a high quality, comprehensive, discipline-based education with intense application of existing and emerging technologies.
PHILOSOPHY
The college philosophy is to provide the advancement of knowledge and produce O’level graduates with well-balance education.
- The need to create an environment conducive to teaching, learning, practical and good character building
- The increasing need to pay attention to the provision of all-round education and training for students
- The need to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship in students.
The emerging economics are now technology-driven. Hence, the science-based programmes must enjoy very high priority in the order of things but most importantly, there is an urgent need to expose staff as well as students, irrespective of their disciplines, to the tools of information and communication technology (ICT) through exposure to computer usage, access to the internet and the information super highway.
In keeping to the foregoing, MJMC admits only the best of the available qualified candidates. To this end, the college conduct its own admission examination for prospective students.
Nevertheless, admission is open to all, irrespective of gender, tribe, race or religion.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the college include:
- Provision of enabling environment for effective learning and teaching
- To provide courses of instruction and other facilities for the acquisition of knowledge in all fields; and to make those facilities available on proper term to such persons that are equipped to benefit from them.
- To encourage the advancement of learning and to hold out to all the opportunities of acquiring a higher and liberal education
- To provide access to secondary school in a friendly environment for some of the numerous qualified candidates who could not be accommodated in other existing secondary schools
- To act as a center of excellence that will make impact at the cutting-edge of the Junior and Senior schools.
- To provide opportunities for secondary school education that is affordable and sustainable.
- To provide a balanced education to all stakeholders.
